Last month, word broke that the proposed “Zombieland” TV series will bypass television altogether by debuting on Amazon’s streaming video service. And now the first two leads have been cast.

According to Deadline, Tyler Ross and Izabela Vidovic have signed on to star in “Zombieland,” with Ross stepping into Jesse Eisenberg’s role, Columbus and Vidovic taking over the part of Little Rock from Abigail Breslin in the original Zombieland movie.

The “Zombieland” original series will continue the adventures of Columbus, Little Rock, Tallahassee and Wichita in a post zombie apocalypse America. The screenwriters of the Zombieland movie, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have written the pilot for the “Zombieland” original series and they will executive produce it alongside Gavin Polone.

Prior to landing the lead in “Zombieland,” Ross starred in the indie film Milkshake and made appearances in “Boss,” “NCIS” and “Coco & Ruby.” Vidovic is a relative newcomer who had roles in “Harry’s Law,” “Up All Night,” “Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior” and the TV movies, Christmas Angel and Help for the Holidays.

Amazon’s “Zombieland” doesn’t currently have a premiere date, but it appears to be set to begin production later this year.
