The D.I.C.E. Awards were held last night in Las Vegas, NV. This video game award ceremony, unlike others, is something worth taking note of because industry professionals select the winners. Think of the D.I.C.E. Awards as the Academy Awards for video games, if you’d like.

Thatgamecompany’s Journey led the pack with 11 nominations going into the ceremony. The game took home eight of those awards, including best sound design, best casual game, best art direction and Game of the Year. Our favorite title from last year, Telltale’s The Walking Dead, won four awards, including best downloadable game, outstanding achievement in story, and best adventure game.

Interestingly, FarCry 3, which was nominated for seven awards, and Dishonored, which was nominated for five, both walked away with nothing last night. Borderlands 2 had five nominations also, yet it only took home best action game of the year.
