During last night’s Streamy Awards, Machinima debuted the first trailer for Warner Brothers’ upcoming second season of “Mortal Kombat: Legacy;” the hit web series that debuted in 2011.

While Kevin Tancharoen is back as the director and co-writer for the series, all but one of the original cast has been replaced or omitted for the new season. Ian Anthony Dale (“The Event”) will once again reprise his role as Hanzo Hasashi aka Scorpion, while Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa will play Shang Tsung, the villainous figure whom he originally portrayed in the 1995 Mortal Kombat film.

New cast members also include Casper Van Dien as Johnny Cage, Dan Southworth as Kenshi, Harry Shum, Jr. as Sub-Zero, Samantha Tjhia as Kitana, Michelle Lee as Mileena, Eric Jacobus as Kurtis Stryker, Brian Tee as Liu Kang, Mark Dacascos as Kung Lao and David Lee McInnis as Raiden.

The trailer for “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” Season 2 also hints at a more cynical Liu Kang than we’ve seen before as Kitana and Mileena have a non-animated fight this season… and Ermac makes an appearance as well.

A release date for “Mortal Kombat: Legacy” Season 2 has not been announced, but Machinima is expected to set the date soon.
