Who’s ready for a pirate-themed Assassin’s Creed game?

Ubisoft has officially announced the next game in the Assassin’s Creed franchise – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. As was previously reported, the game features a new hero and new setting, with rumors swirling on the internet pointing to the Caribbean.

Essentially, Black Flag will be a pirate game set in the Assassin’s Creed universe. That sounds pretty damn awesome, and a great way to take advantage of Assassin’s Creed III’s one redeeming quality – the naval battles.

As of right now, all we have is the game’s cover art showing off the new protagonist (displayed below). Ubisoft will be revealing more about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag next Monday at noon eastern time, apparently. Check back here shortly thereafter to learn more about the title.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is planned to launch on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and Wii U this fall (we assume).
