So it's April Fools Day. The only day of the year where you're encouraged to lie. Businesses and the government do this all year round, of course, but when they do it on April 1st, it's awesome. Here are the 7 best April Fools Day Pranks of this year.
BMW announced a car fit for a Queen (or Princess, or whatever the f*** the "royal baby" might be when it shoots out of Kate Middleton this summer) in the form of the "P.R.A.M." That is, of course, an acronym for Postnatal Royal Auto Mobile. It even comes fitted with a N.A.P.P.I.E. ((Nanny-Assisting Petrol-Powered Injection Engine).
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
So we're just going to assume this one is an April Fools gag, though we do kind of hope that it's real. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will apparently be some form of DLC/standalone expansion for the third in the Far Cry series, and even has its own hilarious little website. The official description of it is as follows: The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on." It will also allegedly see players "hanging around, watching TV." Excellent.
"Smelling is believing," reads Google's official website for 'Google Nose.' Branding it 'the new scentsation in search,' they've even created a handy little video for the feature.
Virgin's Glass Plane
Virgin owner and billionaire announced the "glass-bottomed plane." "2012 was a year of celebrating what is brilliant about Great Britain," wrote Branson in a blog post. "I’m excited that in 2013, we are continuing this uplifting spirit by developing an experience that will enable Little Red passengers to appreciate the beauty of the British landscape. And with an unrivalled view of Scotland, I hope this gives Scottish tourism an even bigger boost."
Google Treasure Maps
Google have invited users to take part in a global treasure hunt, with the announcement of Google Treasure Maps. This one has all been announced using a nice introductory video.
YouTube is Shutting Down
In this YouTube star-studded video (that guy who wore a bandana and complained about his sister almost being sexually assaulted is in it), YouTube's creators explain that YouTube was just one long, long competition to judge what the best video in the world is.
A Message from the President
It's less cute when he goes out the back and launches another set of drone strikes.
