As promised, WB Games and developer WB Montreal released the full trailer for Batman Arkham Origins this morning. While the video embedded above does not show any gameplay, the ensuing CGI fight between our beloved Dark Knight and Deathstroke is quite awesome to behold.
In other Batman Arkham Origins news, Kevin Conroy will be returning to voice the Batman in some unspecified fashion. This flies in the face of an earlier report stating WB Games was moving beyond both Conroy and Mark Hamill, who voiced the Joker in past Arkham games, with Arkham Origins. Multiple outlets have confirmed that Batman will be voiced by Roger Craig Smith (Assassin’s Creed’s Ezio, Resident Evil's Chris Redfield, and Sonic) for this prequel, while Troy Baker (BioShock Infinite’s Booker DeWitt) will voice the Joker. Maybe Conroy’s role this time out is that of a storyteller recounting these past events.
Lastly, the press release that came with the new trailer announces that Deathstroke will be a playable character to those who pre-order. However, he won’t be integrated into the main campaign; instead, Deathstroke will be playable in the game’s Challenge Mode. But if that’s something that interests you, run out and pre-order Arkham Origins at your favorite retailer.
Batman Arkham Origins launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 25, worldwide.
