British comedian and actor Russell Brand is coming to Canada.

The quirky funnyman will be appearing in Calgary, Toronto, Vancouver as well as Ottawa.

Brand toured the UK, Australia and the US before landing his first big mainstream flick "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," and he also released three stand-up specials: Shame (2006), Russell Brand: Only Joking (2007), and Russell Brand: Scandalous (2009). He has been the host of the MTV Movie Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards as well.

He currently hosts his own late-night show "Brand X" on FX Network, which is starting its second season, he is in pre-production for Paramount Pictures' "The Hauntrepreneur," and he will star in Diablo Cody's directorial debut later this year (according to the Just For Laughs website). He's also a published author, penning the bestseller "My Booky Wook: A Memoir Of Sex, Drugs, and Stand-Up" along with "My Booky Wook 2: This Time, It's Personal."

Brand's shows will run in Canada from August 21-24. Go to the Just For Laughs' page for ticket info.
