It seems Capcom is listening to fans of the Resident Evil series and it's sales figures for Resident Evil 6, and plans to bring the next RE game back to the survival horror genre that made the franchise what it is.
RE6 sold only about 5 million copies which, according to Crave's Xbox360Acheivements.org, was well short of Capcom's goal of seven million. The head of marketing for Capcom, Michael Pattison, says the company will respond to that very tangible feedback from gamers.
"Because we did Resident Evil Revelations on 3DS, there was a cry out for us to focus our attention on survival horror, rather than be too many things to all people. You’ll find where we go next will likely be more targeted at our core fanbase."
