Browns Trade Disgruntled Receiver

In a rare in-season move, the Cleveland Browns have traded much maligned wide receiver Braylon Edwards to the New York Jets. In return for Edwards, the Browns will receive special teams ace Jason Trusnik, wideout Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks.

The one time pro bowler Edwards is facing possible league punishment following an incident at a night club where he reportedly punched a friend of basketball star LeBron James.

The deal gives the Jets a legitimate deep threat for rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez.

"It's just another piece that we wanted to add," Tannenbaum said. "We're excited to get Braylon. We think he's going to help us. It was a position that we liked, but it was also a position we felt that if there was an opportunity to improve, we were going to go ahead and try to do that."

The Wait is Over...Crabtree Signs

The last unsigned draft choice has finally agreed to a deal as Michael Crabtree ended months of holding out to sign a six year deal with the surging San Francisco 49ers. Crabtree is expected to report to the team Wednesday for his first practice.

Michael Crabtree caught 97 passes for 1,165 yards and 19 touchdowns last year during his sophomore season at Texas Tech. He finished his college career with 231 receptions for 3,127 yards and 41 TDs.

Injury Updates!

Pittsburgh Steelers star safety Troy Polamalu is expected to return to practice Wednesday for his first practice since injuring himself in the first half of game one.

Donovan McNabb, sidelined since the season opener with a broken rib, is expected to return to the field this weekend as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
