Fantasy Talk With the EveryMan! Week 5
Two Eagles return, and the Jet's are looking to bounce back.

We have some notable players returning from injury this week as fantasy studs Donovan McNabb and Brian Westbrook are set to return to the field. Also, owners of the Steelers defense can breath a little easier as stud safety Troy Polamalu is set to take the field against the Lions this weekend. Eli Manning owners should stay glued to ESPN this week as he availability for Sundays game is in serious question.

Hits and Misses

I would say that I rebounded from my off week pretty well, posting a perfect Bench material and only missing out on one of the Starts. Sure, perfection is my goal but this is close to the next best thing.

Starters

QB Carson Palmer: 19 pts 230 yds passing, 20 yds rushing, 2 tds, 1 int. HIT

RB Glen Coffee: 10 pts 102 total yards WASH

WR Terrell Owens: 6 pt 3 rec 60 yards MISS

Bench Material

QB Chad Henne: 10 pts 115 yds passing 10 yards rushing, 1 td HIT

RB Julius Jones: 3 pts 35 total yds HIT

WR Torry Holt: 4 pts 3 rec, 42 yds HIT

Starts of the Week!

QB Donovan McNabb (vs TB): Welcome back Donovan, I'm so sure that your first action since week one will be successful that I'm placing you as my Quarterback start of the week. It helps that you're facing a soft Tampa Bay defense as well.

RB Rashard Mendenhall (at DET): Coming off a 30 point fantasy explosion last week, look for Mendenhall to keep running up the points for a second week in a row. With fellow halfback Willie Parker hobbled by a bum toe, Mendenhall has a chance to cement himself into the starting RB role with another solid performance. While expecting another 30 points this week may be a reache, 15 to 20 should be easily attainable.

WR Hines Ward (at DET): It's Steeler mania in fantasy talk today as I look for Hines Ward to join Rashard Mendenhall in fantasy glory this week as they face the Detroit Lions. The Steelers has unleashed a new and improved passing attack that is netting big results and Ward is still one of the favorite targets for that attack. Look for a good game out of him this week.

Other notable starts: QB Tony Romo (at KC), RB Joseph Addia (at TEN), WR Desean Jackson (vs TB)

Bench Material of the Week!

QB Chad Henne (vs NYJ): Henne makes the list for the second straight week not because I expect him to play that horrible but because he's facing a solid Jets squad looking to dish out some pain this week. Besides, being a quarterback in a run first team is never good for your fantasy points.

RB Cedric Benson (at Bal): If the 'at Bal' part doesn't scare you off of Benson this week, maybe the fact that he's also nursing a bad hip will. Benson has been a nice surprise so far this season but is facing the number 1 defense in the league against the run this week so keep your expectations low.

WR Braylon Edwards (at MIA): I'm expecting good things from Edwards with the Jets but not this week as it should take a few games to get in sync with the Jets offense. Edwards owners are desperately hoping a change of scenery will improve his ability to catch the ball and you never know, it just might.

Other notable benches: QB Matt Hasselbeck (vs Jax), RB Michael Turner (at SF), WR Dwayne Bowe (vs DAL).

CraveOnline Yohoo's 4-0

Chalk up another win for the Yohoo's as we decimated the reigning Champs, the RGA, 121-65. Gameballs yet again go to Peyton Manning (24 pts) and Derrick Mason (14 pts), who spearheaded a balanced attacks that has put me three games up in the early going, division wise.

This week the Yohoo's face the Firedogs in what is sure to be a heated fight! (yes, I went there)

Insulting football joke of the week...

Why did the (insert team) players miss their flight for the big game?

They were stuck on a broken escalator!
