Fantasy Talk With the EveryMan! Week 6
Your weekly Fantasy Football fix!

This crazy season for the NFL is in full bloom and its reverberating through the fantasy realms with equal wackiness. New England's Tom Brady being outplayed by Denver's Kyle Orton? Miami QB Chad Henne just racking up the numbers? Jets wideout Braylon Edwards catching balls? When will the madness stop? Don't expect it to be soon as it's obviously just “one of those years” Ugh.

Bye Week For...Dallas, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Miami

Hits and Misses

Well, um, I got my Starters right. I got them so right that I extended my Starters into my Benches and gave you three good ones there as well. Not my best work, I'll admit it, but this week is bound to be better...right?

Starters

QB Donovan McNabb: 29 pts 294 total yards, 3 tds HIT

RB Rashard Mendenhall: 14 pts 83 total yards, 1 td HIT

WR Hines Ward: 14 pts 7 rec, 85 yds, 1 td HIT

Bench Material

QB Chad Henne: 20 pts 241 yds, 2 tds MISS

RB Cedric Benson: 19 pts 136 total yards, 1 td MISS

WR Braylon Edwards: 12 5 rec, 64 yds, 1 td MISS

Starts of the Week!

QB Aaron Rogers (vs DET): Coming off a bye week and still feeling the sting of the Monday night loss to Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings (yes, that does sound like a band that could be found on the Tonight show...”and music by Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings!”), Rogers has to be itching to dish some payback and with Detroit next on the radar, look for him to dish a lot.

RB Brian Westbrook (at OAK): In his first return to action last week against the Buccaneers, Westbrook saw limited action, only touching the ball 8 times with a fantasy redeeming touchdown to go with it. Another knock on him is that he will be splitting carries with LeSean McCoy the rest of the season so his days of being a fantasy monster may be over. But wait, I'm recommending him this week, aren't I? Oh yeah, he's going against Oakland, need I say more.

WR Chad Ochocinco (vs HOU): Yes, I hate the name. Yes, I think the Bengals are vastly overrated. Yes, I think Ocho will have a good week against a porous Houston D. That's about all I have to say on this one.

Other Notable Starts: QB Brett Roethlisberger (vs CLE), RB Thomas Jones (vs BUF), WR Jeremy Maclin (at OAK)

Bench Material of the Week!

QB Phillip Rivers (vs DEN): What, I'd consider benching Phillip Rivers? Am I nuts or on a huge amount of perfectly legal prescription drugs? Well, the answer is yes to the first and no to the second, those drugs aren't legal yet! But seriously, the Denver D is that good and coming off a solid win over a top-flight quarterback in Tom Brady. All that equals owners beware.

RB Marshawn Lynch (at NYJ): Oh, once proud Buffalo, how you have fallen. That 6-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns has to be the low point, it's now time for an intervention. STOP RUNNING THE HURRY UP OFFENSE! Ok, intervention over, but I don't the O is going to get any better. So, tuck Lynch away till Buffalo shows some signs of life.

WR Kevin Walter (at CIN): I'm going to admit it, I do have fantasy man-love for Kevin Walter (and yes, I understand how that sounds, I just don't care). I've had him on my team 2 out of the past 3 years and he's given me some good starts, which is why it's hard for me to put him on the Bench list. But, for some odd reason, the Cincinnati defense is playing pretty good ball right now and have shut down some high scoring teams. That doesn't bode well for Houston, which doesn't bode well for Walter, which doesn't bode well for Walter owners.

Other Notable Benches: QB Matt Cassel (at WAS), RB Reggie Bush (vs NYG), WR Lee Evans (at NYJ)

CraveOnline Yohoo's 5-0

The Yohoo's cruised to a perfect 5-0 by extinguishing the Firedogs (yes, I went there again) 97-68 thanks to the always consistent Peyton Manning, who I'm thinking of leaving my wife for (I can cook Peyton! I LUUUVVVV U!!...ok, I'm better now). Gameball goes to Michael Turner who put up a surprising three scores against the 49ers.

With a three game lead in my division, I face a rematch with my younger brother in The Battle of the Brothers...Part Two! Do we hear 6-0? Check back next week to find out.

Insulting football joke of the week...

The Bengals are leading the AFC North.
