Fantasy Talk With the EveryMan! Week 7
Loving me some backup starters!

In Fantasy Football, timing is everything, whether it's good timing or bad timing. Case in point, Peyton Manning was on a bye week for the Yohoo's, forcing me to start Brett Favre against a tough Baltimore defense. What does he do? He goes off for three touchdowns, making his one week start a great one. Now that may not sound like it's a huge thing, but in a league where every win is vital, these little spots of good timing could be the key to winning or losing a championship.

Bye Week For: Denver, Detroit, Tennessee, Seattle, Jacksonville, Baltimore

Hits and Misses

My prognostication powers returned to their full glory last week as I recorded a HIT in every area but one, and we'll call that one a WASH. With my confidence full, I embark into this week's pick with my head held high and my picks sure to be 100% accurate...um, no guarantees though.

Starters

QB Aaron Rogers: 19 pts 358 yds 2 tds 1 int, 1 fumble HIT

RB Brian Westbrook:14 pts 242 total yards HIT

WR Chad Ochocinco: 10 pts 5 rec 105 yds HIT

Bench Material

QB Phillip Rivers: 13 pts 274 yds, 1 td, 1 fumble WASH

RB Marshawn Lynch: 7 pts 72 total yards HIT

WR Kevin Walter: 2 pts 3 rec 29 yds HIT

Starts of the Week!

QB Peyton Manning (at STL): The hottest fantasy player out there, Peyton Manning has returned to the number one spot of fantasy quarterbacks. His amazing how productive he's been with the loss of wideouts Marvin Harrison and Anthony Gonzalez. The only drawback to Peyton is that if the Colts keep winning, owners of his may not have him come Championship time.

RB Frank Gore (at HOU): The last full game Gore played in, he put up 35 fantasy points. While he shouldn't put up those kind of numbers this week, going against Houston should provide him with plenty of opportunity to post at least 20 fantasy points.

WR Roddy White (at DAL): The Atlanta Falcons face a Dallas team that has considerable shortcomings in key areas. If the Falcons can set up the run early, expect White to dominate. Consider him a must start against the Cowboys.

Other Notable Starts: QB Phillip Rivers (at KC), RB Thomas Jones (at OAK), WR Hines Ward (vs MIN)

Bench Material of the Week!

QB Kurt Warner (at NYG): Normally, Warner is one of those QB's that you wouldn't ever see on a bench list but he's going up against the number one team against the pass, the New York Giants. Not only are they number one, but they are coming into this game with a huge chip on their shoulder after getting stomped by New Orleans last week. This doesn't bode well for Warner and the Cardinals.

RB Cadillac Williams (vs. NE): Cadillac has been a pleasant surprise for fantasy owners this season. While not flashy, he has put together some solid outings. This week won't be one of them. The Patriots look to be hitting their stride and woe be the team that gets in their way.

WR Santanna Moss (vs PHI): Inconsistent at the best of times, Moss is always a question mark for fantasy owners. Now you have to throw in that mess going on behind the scenes in Washington and facing a Philadelphia team coming off an embarrassing loss to Oakland of all teams and it's probably best just to keep him on the bench this week.

Other Notable Benches: QB Chad Henne (vs NO), RB Clinton Portis (vs PHI), WR Dwayne Bowe (vs SD)

CraveOnline Yohoo's (6-0)

No Peyton Manning and no Reggie Wayne equals no problem at the Yohoo's kept on rolling to a perfect 6-0 behind super-sub Brett Favre and the ageless wonder Hines Ward. The win keeps me in first place in both my division and the league as well as keeping me in the top scorer slot. Entering week 7 and the beginning of the second half of the season, the Yohoo's hope to keep the ball rolling to 7-0 and a strangle hold on the division.

Insulting football joke of the week...

Why did the (insert team) players miss their flight for the big game?

They were stuck on a broken escalator!
