10. 2003 Detroit Tigers (43-119)

The first of three Detroit based teams to make this list, the '03 Tigers hold the 'honor' of posting the most losses by an American league team in baseball history and came within .03 percentage points of tying the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics for the worst winning percentage of all time.
9. 1981 Winnipeg Jets (9-57-14)
There's not much to say about the Jets second year in the NHL except it was a stinker. Period.
8. 1960 Dallas Cowboys (0-11-1)
The inagural season for this proud franchise wasn't a memorable one as they went winless in twelve tries. The franchise was admitted to the league too late to participate in the 1960 NFL Draft.
7. 1998 Denver Nuggets ( 11-71)
When you allow 100.8 points per game and are only scoring 89, you're going to be in for a long season. As you can guess, the '98 Nuggets were dead last in defensive ratings and next to last on the offensive side.
6. 1975 Washington Capitals (8-67-5)
The first season for the Capitals, an awful one even by the low standards set for expansion teams, saw them set records for most road losses (39 out of 40), most consecutive road losses (37), and most consecutive losses (17).
