2008 Outlook: With Peyton Manning, this team is a legit Super Bowl contender, without him, you’re looking at a .500 team at best. But take heart, Colts fans, Manning is the new Ironman of football…well, he was poised to take that title till the OLD Ironman decided to come back (thanks Farve!!)…but anyway, he doesn’t miss so I expect to see him come opening weekend.
2008 Prediction: 11-5, 2nd in division.
Off-Season Recap: The big news for the Jags coming into 2008 is the addition of 2 new talented, but questionable, wideouts…Jerry Porter (from Oak) and Troy Williamson (from Minn). On the defensive side, they picked up a decent Cornerback in Drayton Florence (from SD) but traded away Marcus Stroud to Buffalo for a couple of draft picks.
2008 Outlook: A physically dominant team on both sides of the ball, this team looks poised for another great season. Exactly how great depends on the play at wide-receiver. But with the running combo of Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor, expect great things.
2008 Prediction: 12-4, 1st in division
Off-Season Recap: its old home year in the AFC South! Not only did Indy bring back Dominic Rhodes for another run (pun intended) but the Titans have brought back the Freak, Jevon Kearse (DT, from Eagles) and Justin McCareins (WR, from Jets)…both of whom has had the most success in the NFL wearing a Titans uniform. But you have to look at the guard they stole from Indy, Jake Scott, as the high point of this off-season.
2008 Outlook: Call Titans QB Vince Young what you will; ‘running’ quarterback, ‘unorthodox’, a fantasy football season killer (ugh, that’s my name for him), but whatever his title, he’s a winner and I expect nothing short of another solid season from him and this team. If they were in the NFC, they would be a lock for the playoffs but in the competitive AFC, they may find themselves on the outside looking in.
2008 Prediction: 9-7, 3rd in division
Off-Season Recap: Picked up a pair of possible starters in Cornerback Jacques Reeves (from Dallas) and Center Chris Myers Jacques Reeves (from Denver). They also added Ray Rhodes, a former Eagles head coach, as a defensive assistant.
2008 Outlook: The Texans are a team on the verge of a break-out season. They have a solid defense, a steady running game, and a good group of Wide-Receivers. I still think they are a year away but they may end up surprising us all.
2008 Prediction: 8-8, 4th in division.
