5. 1988-89 Detroit Pistons (63-19)

Known for being the "Bad Boys", this tough and tumble Detroit team finally managed to get over the hump this season after being close the previous two seasons. They swept an injury plagued Lakers team to win the Title.

It was 'Showtime' in LA in 86-87 and the offense never looked smoother behind Magic Johnson, James Worthy, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. They beat Boston in six and would come back next season to win another Championship.

This was the squad, led by Wilt Chamberlain, that ended Boston's run of 8 consecutive Titles. They won 45 out of their first 49 games and beat Boston by 5 in the Eastern Conference Finals on their way to the Title.
2. 1991-92 Chicago Bulls (67-15)

Led by Michael Jordan, who won his third straight MVP this season, and Scottie Pippen, who thrived as Michaels wing-man, the 91-92 Chicago Bulls were the picture of excellence. It took a dogfight with the Portland Trailblazers for them to get their ring.

The picture of excellence and what every team tries to match, the 95-96 Bulls were a thing of beauty. Led by the return of Michael Jordan after a 17 month retirement and the pick-up of defensive stalworth Dennis Rodman, this team had no equal. They led the league on offense with 105.2 points per game and was third on defense, allowing 92.9 ppg. If there was any knock on this team, it was that it took them 6 games to close out the Seattle SuperSonics in the Finals.
