Spotlight: Heisman Watch Week 12

The Hopefuls shine as the season winds down.

Cameron Newton, QB, Auburn: 148 yds, 2 tds, 1 int. 151 yds rushing. 2 tds

Newton is the clear frontrunner for this award. Barring a suspension or increased media scrutiny involving his off the field troubles, and barring injury of course, Newton will be the Heisman winner. He's just that dynamic. While I doubt his current game will translate well to the NFL, it's the perfect recipe for college success.

Heisman Value: steady

Kellen Moore, QB, Boise St.: 333 yds. 4 tds, 1 int

What can you say about a guy that brings 28 touchdowns, only five interceptions, and a 71.8 completion percentage to the table? Only that he's a quarterback I want under center in any situation. If Newton should happen to falter, Moore is the clear second choice for the Heisman. He brings everything you can ask for on and off the field for a Heisman candidate.

Heisman Value:  steady

Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford: 235 yds, 2 tds

Is there any quarterback more ready to take the NFL by storm than Andrew Luck? The short answer would be no. Luck is going to be the number one quarterback taken when he decides to move to the next level but unfortunately, in a college setting, his skills aren't as in your face as some of the other candidates.

Heisman Stock: steady

LaMichael James, RB, Oregon.: off last week

Well, we've finally found a way to keep LaMichael James from dominating a game. Just give him the week off. Oregon had the week off but still has two pivotal games left where a productive James could make an impression on Heisman voters.

Heisman Stock: Steady

Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St.: 10 rec, 130 yds, 1 td

Have you looked at the stats this guy is putting up this season? 94 receptions for 1560 yards and 17 touchdowns. Those are video game numbers and lets not forget Blackmon was suspended for one game also. This guy is a beast and I can assure you that he's already on my fantasy football radar when he decides to take his game to the next level.

Heisman Stock: steady
