Pick Four: September

Four questions that are burning to be answered

Should The Heisman Trust demand Reggie Bush give back his trophy?

In case you missed it in the past 24 hours, there have been conflicting reports centering on the Heisman Trophy trust preparing to ask 2005 Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush to return the award after it was proven that he accepted improper benefits while at USC and was ineligible during the 2005 season. Whether this comes to fruition or not, the real question is should they ask for it.

In short, my answer is no, they shouldn't ask for it back.

Look, nobody is denying that Bush accepted offers from prospective agents but that, in itself, is an antiquated notion and has no effect whatsoever on how Bush performed on the field. He won the award by a landslide over Vince Young for a reason, he was just that good. He earned it and the Trust should have no right to rescind the honor.

Is picking Tiger Woods for the Ryder Cup the right move?

Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin picked the erratic Tiger Woods as one of his four picks yesterday to round out the U.S. Ryder Cup team heading into the competition coming up in October and there are people questioning if this was, in fact, the right move. I would say yes and I'd even go as far as saying that picking Tiger is pretty much a no brainer.

Tiger may be struggling a bit but he has shown improvement over the last month and is still the number one ranked golfer in the world, a position he's held for an overwhelming 274 consecutive weeks. So yes, I think he deserves the spot.

"It's great to be a part of this team," Woods said. "I'm honored to be selected ... and looking forward to going back and having a great time with the team and hopefully, bring the Cup back."

Can Team USA take first at the Worlds?

Don't look now but team USA is 4-0 in World Championship play and they are doing it without some of the premier talent in the league. But can they win it all? That would be a big yep as the young and hungry Team USA are looking more and more dominant as play continues. If they can avoid a shooting slump and continue to run and gun, then there is no reason they can't leave the World's as the top dog.

"Yeah, we're beatable. We're not unbeatable," Krzyzewski said. "There's no one in our country who has a greater respect for international game than me, there are so many good teams, so many great players. It's an honor for us to be in these competitions, but we also know that we're beatable. And there's nothing wrong with that. So we just have to work hard and hopefully be our best, and that might be good enough to win."

Is this going to be Brett Favre's last season?

You know the story, Brett hints at retirement at seasons end. Then he sits out most of the summer till training camps are pretty much over. Finally he decides, for the team, to return for one more season to see how things go. But is this year finally going to be the year he hangs up his cleats for good? It's honestly hard to say. I expect Favre to have a 'back to reality' season in which he posts pedestrian numbers while his team still makes the playoffs. If that's the case, then it may be the final wake up call that he's just getting too old to keep throwing himself out their against these larger, more stronger competition.

While you can never count Favre out, he is 100% playing for the last team he will play for and whether it's this year or next, the end is near.
