Bret "The Hitman" Hart of the WWE has announced his much-awaited return to the ring – the monumental event will take place at the end of March at WrestleMania 26 when he takes on his long-time rival Vince McMahon, chairman and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. For more than a decade, pro wrestling fans have anxiously awaited for the Calgary native to come back, and this fight is gearing up to his biggest yet.

Despite speculation that Hart will leave professional wrestling following his bout with McMahon, conflicting reports are instead saying that Hart will participate in the WWEtour of Germany following WrestleMania 26. The Canadian wrestler (and writer) will apparently play the role of “Special Guest Enforcer” at World Heavyweight Championship Matches between Edge and Chris Jericho.

"I just felt that after 12 years, for one, I was getting a little bored back in Calgary just sitting around doing nothing all the time," Hart told Canada AM earlier this week. "It's kind of a way of clearing the table for everybody. My coming back is a way to forgive and forget in a good way and move on."

Hart has been a somewhat controversial character on the pro wrestling scene, as he and McMahon have had a very public conflicting relationship. However there’s no denying Hart’s incredible diversity and impressive record in the ring. Playing both the villain and the hero throughout his lengthy career, Hart has been the World Champion seven times, a WWF Champ five times, and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion twice. Three years ago, Hart was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

WrestleMania takes place on March 28th in Phoenix, Arizona.
