Saints Capture First SuperBowl Win in Franchise History!

New Orleans Saints 31 Indianapolis Colts 17

CO Take: In what I will call the “Stunner of Stunners” SuperBowl, the Saints rallied from a ten point deficit  to school the Colts and send Peyton Mannings hope of a second ring down in the crapper. It wasn't the best SB I've watched but it was far from the worst.

The Saints, in their first SB in franchise history, played with a looseness that was remarkable. Normally, in this situation, coaches tend to lighten up, but not Saints coach Sean Payton. Payton was as loose as you can get when he called for his team to go for it on a 4th and goal at the one near the end of the first half. And not deterred by that failure (they were stopped), he called for something that had never been done in the history of the SB, an onside kick to start the second half. This ruse worked and led to a touchdown and the moment the viewer had to start taking these Saints seriously.

"We were really excited when he made the call," said linebacker Jonathan Casillas, who was on the field when teammate Chris Reis recovered the ball. "That changed everything."

The Colts, on the other hand, live and die by their leader, and no, I don't mean Coach Caldwell. Manning is the Colts right now, plain and simple, and in that fourth quarter, on a drive that would have tied the game, he failed them. Peyton reverted back to the big game choker of old with a blatant interception that New Orleans took 74 yards for seven. He locked on WR Reggie Wayne that whole play and paid the price. Now, with the dust settling, you have to wonder what that play will do to the legacy of Manning. Having the chance at being the greatest of all time, does costing his team a chance at another SB ruin his chances at being the best QB ever? That's an article for another time, right their.

Congrats to the Saints. I still don't believe that they were the best team in the NFL this season, they are one dimensional and have a questionable defense, but they are the last one standing and in the end, that's all that counts.

Top 3 SuperBowl Commercials!

The Groundhog days spoof featuring Troy Polamalu.

Being a Steelers fan, I'm a little biased on this one but I wasn't expecting a mini Polamalu to be yanked up by the hair in this one. And the shock he exhibited when he saw his shadow was classic. I have to admit though, I also found this a little disturbing at well.

Career Builders Casual Friday.

I shudder at what this practice would bring to workplaces across America but I guess that's the point. This was a funny commercial with a good premise that didn't try to go over the top.

Doritos

The big commercial winner, Doritos had a number of hilarious commercials. From the mermaid “girls” to the ninja Doritos man, these yummy chips cemented themselves as the top dogs of SuperBowl commercials.
