Start Time: Sunday, February 7th 6:25 p.m.
Line: Indianapolis +3
Summary:
The Indianapolis Colts, representing the AFC, take on the NFC's best, the New Orleans Saints, in a match up that pits the number one team of both conferences. The Colts, led by one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Peyton Manning, march into Miami looking to capture their second Championship under the Manning era.
Meanwhile, it's fresh and new for the Saints as this Drew Brees led squad is making its first SuperBowl appearance in franchise history. Long know for futility on the field, New Orleans has shed the moniker of the whipping-boy of the NFL and has joined the ranks of the games elite.
Advantages
Offense:
Both teams favor the pass with little recognition to the run game but it's the Colts that has the wider assortment of weapons for the better quarterback. The key to this game will come down to which team can stop the pass.
Advantage: Indianapolis Colts
Defense:
I honestly believe that facing tougher competition breeds a tougher squad and there is no tougher teams than in the AFC, which holds a considerable lead over it's NFC counterparts in terms of quality teams. That being said, their isn't anyone in the AFC outside of Indy that tosses the pigskin like the Saints.
Advantage: Indianapolis Colts
Special Teams: For teams that can move the ball as well as these two, field position is key, and seeing how both these units play, there is no obvious advantage to either side.
Advantage: Even
Prediction
Watch for the Saints to come out fast and strong, putting up an early lead, but it's patience and skill that will win the game in the end with a final drive by Mr. Cool himself, Peyton Manning, in the final two minutes that will put the capper on this game and extend the list of consecutive awesome SuperBowls to three straight
Final Score: Colts 28, Saints 34
