Arizona 14, New Orleans 45
COTake: The battle of the mighty offenses turned into a one sided flop with the Cardinals laying an egg in Saints territory. I have to give serious props to New Orleans for coming out with a fire and determination that they have been lacking in recent weeks.
Baltimore 3, Indianapolis 20
COTake: For one week at least, the Colts looked like a complete team; dominating the Ravens in all aspects of the game. I doubted the mighty Indy coming into this one and I have been proven wrong. Where there is a Peyton, there is a way. If only he could get Eli to change his last name, then he would have no blemishes to his name!
Dallas 3, Minnesota 34
COTake: The hottest team in the playoffs, the Cowboys were given a rude awakening when they marched into Minnesota to face the Vikings. Brett Favre lit them up for four touchdowns in route to this total beatdown of what I considered coming into it the best game of the weekend.
New York Jets 17, San Diego 14
COTake: The only tight game of the weekend and obviously the best because of it, saw the rookie head coach and the rookie quarterback out play and out coach their seasoned counterparts on the opposite side of the field. You have to feel for Norv Turner and Phillip Rivers. They are quickly developing a reputation for regular season excellence that fizzles in crunch time.
Conference Championship Preview
AFC
New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts
COTake: Does anyone else smell a big fat dose of irony coming up? How funny would it be if the Colts lost to the team they could have removed from the playoff picture weeks before when they sat their starters in the third quarter? I would have a hearty laugh at the Colts expense at that one, though I don't see it happening.
NFC
Minnesota at New Orleans
COTake: It's one versus two in the NFC Championship game and it could easily be the shootout of the weekend. I think the edge has to go to the Vikings because they are the more complete team but don't turn the cheek on those feisty Saints. Brett Favre, as much as you want to hate him, just keeps proving his greatness. A Super Bowl win would really shut up critics and fire up Green Bay, wouldn't it?
