Fantasy Talk With the EveryMan! Week 4

And here comes the bye weeks...

The easy part of the FF schedule is over and now we start seeing if we're as smart as we think we are as our bench players get to see some action with the beginning of bye weeks. This is the make or break part of the season for many owners as depth is key and planning is a necessity.

Hits and Misses

Week three was a very disappointing week for prognostication as I put up a horrible 2-6 on my picks. A very cringe worthy stat that I hope to improve this week.

Starters

QB Trent Edwards: 169 total yards 1 int MISS

RB Steven Jackson: 14 pts 163 total yards 1 lost fumble HIT

WR Santonio Holmes: 1 pt 1 rec 18 yds MISS

Bench Material

QB Tom Brady: 14 pts 277 yds 1 td MISS

RB Brandon Jacobs: 15 pts 96 yds 1 td MISS

WR Dwayne Bowe: 0 pts INJURED HIT (cheap but I'll take it)

Starts of the Week!

QB Carson Palmer (at CLE): Coming off a stunning upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Bengals are riding high into Cleveland against the struggling Cleveland Browns. Carson Palmer looks as good as he ever was and should post great stats this week.

RB Glen Coffee (vs, St. Louis): Now I understand that a portion of the people reading this is thinking :who the heck is Glenn Coffee?”. Mr Coffee is the back replacing Frank Gore the next few weeks and has a sweet match up in his first game as the featured back.

WR Terrell Owens (at MIA): TO is going up against a horrible pass defense on a week where Buffalo will be looking to throw. Toss in that Miami will be using a new starting quarterback this week and all the ingredients are there for a successful week.

Other Notable Starts: QB Jay Cutler (vs Det), RB Clinton Portis (vs TB), WR Kevin Walter (vs. OAK)

Bench Material of the Week!

QB Chad Henne (vs BUF): Making the start for the Dolphins over injured Chad Pennington, Henne looks to hit the ground running. BUT he faces a motivated Buffalo team that should be able to limit his effectiveness.

RB Julius Jones (at IND): The Seahawks will be without starting quarterback Matt Hasselbeck and facing one of the premier teams in the NFL. Look for Indy to stuff the box and make Seattle beat them through the air.

WR Torry Holt (vs TEN): Holt is a former fantasy stud who is in the twilight of his career. Reduced to a third string fantasy option, don't look for much out of Holt as the Jags face a very motivated Titans team.

Other Notable Benches: QB Mark Sanchez (at NO), RB Reggie Bush (vs NYJ), WR TJ Houshmandzadeh (at IND)

CraveOnline Yohoo's (3-0)

It was a total beatdown this week as the Yohoo's slapped down the SlapAhoes 112-65. The Yohoo's were of course lead by the stunning play of Peyton Manning (37 pts) and received nice contributions from my running game (24 pts), Derrick Mason  (17 pts), and my kicker, Stephen Gostkowski (14 pts).

The Yohoo's look to go 4-0 as they face the dreaded RGA, winners of the league championship a season ago.

Insulting football joke of the week...

What do you call a (insert team) fan with half a brain?

Gifted!
