Bring on the Football!

Week one is in the books and the injury bug is rearing it's ugly head again as key defensive players Brian Urlacher (out for season) and Troy Polamalu (out 3-6 weeks) both went down and Donovan McNabb (fractured rib) isn't looking to make a start this week.

Hits and Misses

Looks like I hit the ground running in week 1 with a HIT on every prediction. Can I keep up my perfection for another week? Eh, probably not but that doesn't mean I won't try!

Starters

QB Matt Hasselbeck (Seattle) 23 pts 279 yds 3 tds, 2 ints HIT

RB Ray Rice (Baltimore) 11 pts 108 yds rushing 12 yds receiving HIT

WR Randy Moss (New England) 14 12 catches, 141 yds HIT

Bench Material

QB Brady Quinn (Cleveland) 8 pts 205 yds, 1 td, 1 int, 1 lost fumble HIT

RB Darren McFadden (Oakland) 6 pts 68 yds rushing, 25 yds receiving, 1 lost fumble HIT

WR Santana Moss (Washington) 0 pts 2 rec 6 yds. HIT

Starts of the Week!

QB Kerry Collins (vs HOU): After a disappointing week one performance against the world champs, look for Collins to rebound in a big way against a suspect Houston team. Collins isn't usually a stats monster but 242 yds and 2 td's are within easy reach this week.

RB Michael Turner (vs CAR) Turner had an average week one and isn't known for being a 'road warrior' but this is a Carolina team that is in free-fall. They turn the ball over and turnovers mean more scoring opportunities.

WR Bernard Berrian (at DET) If the at Detroit part isn't convincing enough, just look at what the Saints did to that D last week. 6 touchdown passes by Drew Brees! It won't be as easy for Favre but the Lions will have to crowd the box looking to contain Adrian Peterson so the long passes will be there and I look for Berrian to benefit from them.

Other Notable Starts: QB Ben Roethlisberger ( at Chi), TE Dallas Clark (at Mia), RB Chris Johnson (vs Hou)

Bench Material of the Week!

QB Jay Cutler (vs PIT) Jay Cutler had a roller coaster of a week one; he moved the ball well but threw 4 interceptions which cost them a win over the Packers. Cutler has vowed to play better in week 2 but can he really play any worse? It's quite possible against the best defense in the NFL, the Steelers.

RB Kevin Smith (vs. MIN) Kevin Smith may have found the endzone in week 1 but it wasn't on the ground and that's where Detroit needs his production. The good news is that he'll get plenty of opportunities in the coming weeks as with a rookie signal caller, a ground game is essential. The bad news is that he faces a stout Minnesota D that thrives on stopping the run.

WR Roy Williams (vs NYG) Make no mistake about it, with Terrell Owens off to Buffalo, Roy Williams is set to be the man in Dallas, and with a86 yd, 1 td performance in week one, he's off to a good start. But (and isn't there always a but) he hasn't shown success against a very good Giants D that held him to 2 catches and 33 yds in 2 games last season. Look for him to do better than that but not to light it up.

Other Notable Benches: QB Shaun Hill (vs SEA), RB Derrick Ward (at BUF), WR Devin Hester (vs PIT)

CraveOnline Yohoo's (1-0)

In the 'Battle of the Siblings', the Yohoo's overcame a poor running game to top my brothers Volunteers     and earn a week one victory. The gameball for week one goes to Reggie Wayne for his MONSTER 10 catch, 162 yds 1 td day.

Week 2 action sees the Yohoo's going up against the Bulldogs and Adrian Peterson (yikes). Wish me luck...I'll need it.

Insulting football joke of the week...

Why are the (insert team) like a possum? Because they play dead at home and get killed on the road.
