Do you have any post-fighting career plans or aspirations? What do you like to do when you are not training for a fight?
Andre Ward – I’m really passionate about broadcasting, not only after my boxing career, but also now as an active fighter. I’ve gotten the opportunity to do a lot of commentary work over the past few years, calling fights on a several different networks and it’s something that I take very seriously. I recently did an internship at Comcast in San Francisco, and it really helped to give me the full scope of the field, even things as small as microphone placement. The ministry is also something that I want to explore following my career in the ring.
When I’m not training for a fight, I just love to spend time with my family and catch up on everything I missed while I was away in training camp and preparing a fight.
Ward vs. Dawson takes place Saturday, Sept. 8 live on HBO World Championship Boxing beginning at 9:45 p.m. ET/PT.
