It’s that time of year again; the football post-season; what should be a joyous time. Only it’s filled with utter disappointment. Again. Because college football is not decided with sport’s greatest invention: the tournament.
Wouldn’t it be fun if college football had a basketball sized 64 team tournament? Sure it would last a month and a half. But that would truly be the greatest time of the year. They could call it “December (and Well Into January) Madness.”
Here’s a sample bracket of what that playoff would look like. The seeding is based on USA Today’s rankings of every team, with a few alterations to minimize conference rematches.
Look at all the fun matches. LSU versus Kansas State. Clemson and Oregon. Florida and Stanford. Oklahoma versus Alabama. The winning teams are just the higher seed in each matchup, but leave your comments to who you think would really win in these matchups or in the whole tournament.
Would it still be Notre Dame and Alabama in the title game?
