Want To Coach Wisconsin? Just Apply Online!

But does really belong in the same section as senior lecturer?

It was announced that Bret Bielema — Wisconsin's former coach — would take the Arkansas head coaching position on Dec. 4. The University of Wisconsin didn't waste anytime looking for a replacement either…by posting the opening on their website…?

Yahoo Sports blogger Frank Schwab found the opening on his alma mater's site, pointing out the 'qualifications' as listed on the Wisconsin job page:

Bachelor's Degree required

Minimum of 5 years of successful collegiate football coaching experience preferred. Division I head coaching experience is also preferred.

Under the general supervision of the Athletic Director or his designee, manage a Division I football program as Head Coach in accordance with NCAA, Big Ten and University regulations. Areas of responsibility include coaching, organizing and conducting practices, recruiting, conditioning, budget, administration of sport, supervision of assistant coaches and operations, public relations and other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Other qualifications include the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups and administrators, faculty, staff and students. The successful applicant must be able develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions; work well independently and in teams; and be flexible in accepting new responsibilities.

A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.

Bielema made $2.6 million last year, so I can only imagine how a criminal background check would be important.

Oh, and as Schwab points out; don't forget to list No. 75429 on your cover letter while applying for the position. Applications are due Dec. 19, well before the Rose Bowl game.
