Super Bowl XLVII: Flacco vs. Kaepernick

We take a look at the two quarterbacks showcasing the biggest football game of the year and tell you whom you should most trust.

It's time to face the reality of the situation folks; Super Bowl XLVII will not feature a quarterback by the last name of Brady, Manning, Roethlisberger or Rodgers. In fact, what we do have is two quarterbacks in Joe Flacco and Colin Kaepernick that both come into this game with a lot to prove.

Forget defenses, special teams and offensive lines. Heck, forget everything and let's boil down this impending matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers into an individual affair between two signal callers that have yet to show that they belong in the 'elite' category. It's boxing on the turf, so to speak, with only one man leaving as the winner.

With this scenario mapped out, let's ask the most important question heading into the seasons biggest game: who do you trust more?

Let's break down our two opponents and see which is the better bet.

Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens

The Highlights:

*2012 stats: 3,817 yards passing, 22 touchdowns, 10 interceptions

*Drafted with the 18th pick of the 2008 draft.

*Flacco is the first quarterback to win a playoff game in each of his first five seasons.

*It is widely considered that Flacco has the strongest arm in the NFL.

*Is due to sign a huge contract in the offseason, one that will get even larger with a Super Bowl win.

Strengths:

Experience. Arm strength.

Weakness:

Lack of confidence.

Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers

The Highlights

*2012 stats: 1,814 yards passing, 10 touchdowns, 3 interceptions. 415 yards rushing, 5 touchdowns

*Drafted with the 36 pick of the 2011 draft.

*Set an NFL record for most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback (181) in his first playoff game.

*Beat the Atlanta Falcons after being down by 17 points to advance to the 49ers first Super Bowl appearance since 1994.

Strengths:

Accuracy. Mobility. Confidence.

Weaknesses:

Lack of experience.

Now that we have broken down what makes each quarterback who they are, let's move on to find out the winner of the trust of a nation.

(cue drumroll)

Who do we trust more??…

Colin Kaeperneck

Kaepernick is the quarterback who is more trustworthy because he brings a better skillset to the table along with a positivity that has yet to be beat. Basically, Kaepernick is riding a momentum wave at the moment and will play more relaxed than Flacco.

For Flacco, many see him as being the weakest link on the Ravens squad, and he knows it. This will lead to him potentially pushing himself too much and making mistakes that will cost his team the game. Normally, the experience that Flacco brings to the table would trump Kaepernick's 10 NFL starts, but in this case, ignorance could very well be bliss.

That is why Colin Kaepernick edges out Joe Flacco as the quarterback to trust most in this upcoming Super Bowl.
