Fantasy Football Focus: Week 8

It's time to make your playoff run.

At this point in any fantasy season, a decent owner will know if they have any chance of pulling out a playoff run. The good players have risen to the top while the duds have been readily identified, so outside of freak injuries, your roster's skill level should be readily apparent to you. Remember, try to handcuff your studs with their back ups if possible and maybe keep an eye out for injuries to other teams top players so you can take advantage of them with a lopsided trade in your favor. Remember, the name of the game is winning so do whatever it takes to do it, well, legally of course.

Start of the Week!

Ben Roethlisberger, QB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Roethlisberger and the Steelers have been up and down this season but the last few weeks, they have really begun to click on offense. With speedy receivers, including the top deep threat in the league in Mike Wallace, at Roethlisberger's disposal, he has become a top fantasy option again. Going up against a very suspect New England D this week and more than likely needing to put up major points to win, you can expect Big Ben to put up considerable numbers.

Last Weeks Results: Darren McFadden, RB Oakland Raiders (0 points, left game injured)

Top 5 Studs

Tim Tebow, QB, Denver (vs DET)

Frank Gore, RB, San Francisco (vs CLE)

DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia (vs DAL)

Nate Washington, WR, Tennessee (vs IND)

Antonio Gates, TE, San Diego (at KC)

Sit of the Week!

Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis, RB, New England Patriots

If you haven't noticed, the game of the week is obviously New England vs Pittsburgh. Traditionally, the Steelers defense has been very hard on opposing rusher, but this season, that they have been a little more porous. A lot of that has been due to injury, and some to age. This week, however, they return Casey Hampton to the starting line up and with his return, yards will be hard to get on the ground. Add in that New England disdains rushing and you are adding up to a rough day for green-Ellis.

Last Weeks Results: Kevin Kolb, Arizona QB (21 points)

Matt Cassel, QB, Kansas City (vs SD)

Johnathon Stewart, RB, Carolina (vs MIN)
