Bobby Orr Memoir Coming Out

Hockey great reveals all in October book.

One of the league's most private and yet most celebrated players, Bobby Orr, has a memoir coming out this year called "Orr: My Story."

A long-time Bruins player who was also on the Chicago Blackhawks, he won eight consecutive Norris Trophies as the NHL's best defenceman, more than any other player, along with three consecutive Hart Trophies as the league's most valuable player (MVP).

According to an announcement Tuesday from the book's publishers G.P. Putnam's Sons, Orr will reflect on his remarkable career and on his angry break from his former agent and close friend Alan Eagleson (as reported by The Canadian Press). Orr also found himself in financial trouble after retiring and was among those who demanded Eagleson be removed from the NHL's Hall of Fame after he was jailed for fraud (Eagleson resigned in 1998).

Orr was the youngest at the time to be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1979 (at the age of 31). His book will be released in October.
