Raw vs. Smackdown 2008

An Anti-Buyers Remorse Review.
So being a guy from a really small town, it is fair to assume that I used to be a huge WWF fan, and I say WWF because that’s what they were to me, they weren’t the WWE with their new logo, they didn’t care about any wildlife federation or whatever, they were just the hell raising WWF. They were the company that did whatever it was WCW was too afraid to do. WCW had N.W.O but the WWF had Stone Cold Steve Austin, A guy who flipped every one off and chugged a ton of beer, he was the man’s man. Those glory days are all but gone, and the only way of reclaiming that havoc is in the video game world.

Raw vs. Smackdown 2008 is no exception to this rule, you can spend mindless hours beating and berating people with chairs, and 2x4s wrapped in barbed wire. You can take the fight through the crowd and dive off upper levels through tables, or blow up speakers, you can even fight backstage and punch people’s heads through car windows (my personal favorite). All this without even starting a career in 24/7 mode.

This mode is where the game really shines however, as you start plowing through your first matches and getting signed to a fat contract depending on how well you do, all the way to becoming a WWE legend to be engraved in video game history on your personal console forever. The game not only includes 24/7 mode but a plethora of other modes including your typical create-a-mode, where you can create a superstar, an entrance, a diva, and now a belt. As well as the new legendary mode, where you can throw down in some of the best fights in the history of the business, my personal favorite being the rock vs. stone cold during one of their 18,849,283,929,839,478,392,924 matches.

Even if you’re not a fan of wrestling this is a game every one can enjoy as you and your friends spend hours upon hours beating each other with chairs, or if you choose extreme hardcore rules then enjoy lighting tables on fire and tossing your opponent through it. Either way this is a game not a lot of people should miss.

Final score 8/10
