Miami Dolphins 19
Dallas Cowboys 20
Tony Romo had a spectacular fourth quarter to cap off a great Thanksgiving Day win for the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. Romo threw for 226 yards for the game and two interceptions, but also threw two touchdowns, including the initial go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth quarter to Laurent Robinson. Rookie sensation DeMarco Murray also had a good day – finishing with 128 total yards.
Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore looked good – hooking up often with wide receiver Brandon Marshall, but it was not to be as the Dolphins defense could not stop the Cowboys on their final drive and Dan Bailey nailed the 28-yarder with no time left on the play clock.
Washington Redskins 23
Seattle Seahawks 17
Rex Grossman and the Washington Redskins put up 416 yards of offense and came back from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to earn their fourth win of the season against a struggling Seahawks team. Grossman threw for 314 yards and two touchdowns, including a 50 yard strike to Anthony Armstrong midway through the fourth quarter to put the Redskins ahead for good. Rookie running back Roy Helu put up 162 yards of offense for the game (108 on the ground) and ran for a touchdown.
Neither team looked particularly pretty as the Redskins and Seahawks had a combined 19 penalties for 206 penalty yards in the game.
New York Giants
The Giants will travel to New Orleans for Monday Night Football this week.
Buffalo Bills 24
New York Jets 28
Santonio Holmes made a spectacular touchdown grab with just 1:01 to go in the game and the New York Jets were victorious in a division matchup between .500 teams. The Jets are most certainly looking to the heavens after winning despite a couple of turnovers lost. It also must be said, however, that Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez played a good game, especially in the red zone as he accounted for four touchdown passes.
The Bills, meanwhile continue to spiral downward despite the great play of their quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick who had a 111.5 passer rating for the game. This team is really feeling the loss of their stud tailback Fred Jackson. Backup CJ Spiller ran for just 55 yards on 19 carries and the team rushed for just 86 yards as a whole.
New England Patriots 38
Philadelphia Eagles 20
Vince Young threw the ball 48 times and had 400 yards passing and it still wasn’t near enough for the Eagles to overcome Tom Brady and the Patriots. The Eagles also could not find their ground game all night and rushed for just 73 yards as a team.
Jason Babin and the rest of the Eagles defensive line have been great all year and although they were able to get some pressure on Tom Brady early, they were never quite able to throw his rhythm off. Brady was sensational yet again, throwing for 361 yards and three touchdowns. Patriot receivers Deion Branch and Wes Welker both had over 100 yards receiving for the game.
The two teams combined for just one turnover in the game (a Vince Young interception) and 923 yards of offense.
