School is in session. Well, almost.
We’re getting into the back to school shopping mode early this year so you can easily skip to the head of the class in your new kicks putting you one step ahead of the game. With so many sneaker heads out there, it may be somewhat difficult to get your hands on some of the more popular styles but nothing beats a failure like a try and the early bird gets the worm right? Here are five sneakers that are not just about trend and style but are bound to kick your style into high gear.
The Nike KD 7 (top) is a vibrantly colored shoe that is sure to be eye-catching. The Magnet Grey, Space Blue and Bright Mango combination will play up any look and is the perfect choice for the first day of school. Caution: Catch them if you can. This shoe is set for release tomorrow and sales are very highly anticipated, as usual. They’ll be available from select retailers, and insiders tip, Nohble is one of them.
If you miss out on purchasing this particular color, don’t worry. There will be other color releases from Mystic Green to Red throughout August and into September. Find out more about the release dates at Nike.com.
Converse is a style you can never go wrong with and remains stylish year after year but how about a custom design with emerald embroidery? This Union 70’s Chuck Taylor Ox (above) pair was designed by Lucas Meier of OAMC reminiscent of the 1970’s Chuck Taylor’s also comes with contrasting yellow laces to match the outsole.
For the skater in you or if this just happens to be your style, the best pick for Vans (above) this school year is the SK8-Hi Pro. This legendary hi top has been updated for enhanced performance and is the very same shoe the pro’s rock to the skate parks. It’s not only a favorite among skaters but also artists, musicians and counter culture types.
The last two are no brainers. Whenever you say the name Jordan, it is synonymous with basketball of course but also the Nike Air Jordan shoes. These are styles, like the KD’s that will require a bit of extra effort to obtain but if you’re a fan, it’s worth it.
The Air Jordan 6 Retro in “Sport Blue” drops on 8/30 and the Air Jordan 14 Retro, aka the “Thunder Edition” was released on the 4th of July. You may get lucky and find a few still out there. Let the search begin.
