The Joes are coming back to TV.
The Hub — Hasbro and Discovery's recently rebranded cable network — has announced that "G.I. Joe Renegades" will debut on Friday, November 26 with back-to-back episodes. Additionally, The Hub will air a half-hour behind-the-scenes special “Hub Exclusive: ‘G.I. Joe Renegades’ and ‘Transformers: Prime’” immediately before the premiere of "Renegades."
In the new series, the young G.I. Joe team is framed for crimes they didn't commit and forced to go underground to confront the forces of Cobra Industries, an outwardly benevolent corporation that is secretly intent upon creating a New World Order.
The voice cast for "G.I. Joe: Renegades" is led by Lee Majors ("The Six Million Dollar Man") as General Hawk, with James Marsden ("X-Men") as Duke, Clancy Brown ("The Shawshank Redemption") and Kevin Michael Richardson ("The Dark Knight") as Roadblock. Original "G.I. Joe" voice actors Michael Bell and B.J. Ward will also appear on the series as Duke's parents, while Charlie Adler will reprise his role as Cobra Commander from "G.I. Joe Resolute."
The rest of the primary Joes in this series are Scarlett (Natalia Cigliuti), Ripcord (Khary Payton), Lady Jaye (Nika Futterman), Flint (Johnny Messner), Tunnel Rat (Matthew Yang King) and the silent ninja, Snake-eyes.
Henry Gilroy (“Star Wars: Clone Wars,” “Batman the Animated Series.”) and (“Ben 10,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”) are on board as story editors for the first season of "G.I. Joe Renegades,” which is slated to be 26 episodes.
Following the November 26 premiere, "G.I. Joe: Renegades" will debut in its regular timeslot on Friday, December 3 at 5:00PM, with a new episode immediately afterwards at 5:30PM.
