Although "Sons of Anarchy" is barely a month into its third season, word has come that the boys of SAMCRO will ride again next year.
FX has officially renewed "Sons of Anarchy" for a 13 episode fourth season to air in 2011.
“Sons of Anarchy is the most popular show FX has ever had, and the #1 series in basic cable for our key demographic. It is also one of the best, most original series on television,” said FX President John Landgraf. “FX is grateful to Kurt Sutter and his team of writers, actors, directors and crew for working so hard to make a show that achieves both those levels of success. We congratulate them and look forward to season four.”
The series was created by Kurt Sutter in 2008 and follows an outlaw motorcycle club as they try to control and protect a small town in Northern California. Charlie Hunnam stars as Jackson "Jax" Teller, the son of SAMCRO's legendary founder, John Teller. Ron Perlman co-stars as Clay Morrow, the President of the Sons of Anarchy and Jax's stepfather, with Katey Sagal as his wife, Gemma Teller Morrow. Kim Coates, Maggie Siff, Ryan Hurst, Mark Boone Jr, Theo Rossi and Tommy Flanagan round out the cast.
In the third season, "Sons of Anarchy" has averaged 4.9 million viewers for first run episodes and 8.6 million viewers when encore showings are included, making it one of the highest rated shows on basic cable as well as one of the most popular series to ever air on FX.
The third season of "Sons of Anarchy" will conclude on Tuesday, November 30.
