After years of making famous toys and characters bend to their whims on "Robot Chicken," Seth Green and Matthew Senreich are handing over control to the viewers.
Green and Senreich are branching out to create a new reality web series called "ControlTV" on the DBG Video Network, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The premise for the series is that viewers will be able to make every major decision for "a twentysomething man" during a six week period.
In other words, fans get to pick what he wears, what he will eat, where he will work and who he will date. The results will be based on real time input from users online. However, since Ford and Sprint Nextal are on board as the primary sponsors, the protagonist will be driving a 2011 Ford Fiesta and using a Sprint cell phone.
"'ControlTV' places the audience in complete control of a show for the first time ever, and we are eager to learn what they will decide for our protagonist," said Green. "We are thrilled to partner with DBG, Ford and Sprint on this groundbreaking new form of entertainment."
"This show combines the voyeuristic pleasure of reality TV with the experience of control we get from video games," said former Dimension Films President Richard Saperstein, who is also attached to produce "ControlTV." "Plus, it's all going to play out in real time. The concept takes interactivity to a whole new level, and we think it will be highly addictive."
"ControlTV" will debut on the DBG Video Network in the fall.
Despite the foray into live action, Green and Senreich are not abandoning animation. During a recent interview with Crave Online, Senreich mentioned that the duo are working on an animated presentation for Fox in addition to a highly anticipated "Star Wars" animated series with Lucasfilm.
