It seems like this 79-year-old iconic Canadian is unstoppable – decades after his reign as Captain James T. Kirk on “Star Trek,” William Shatner is showing no signs of slowing down. This year he not only has his own show “William Shatner's Weird or What?”, which is debuting tonight on the History Channel, but he’ll also be working on three other television series.
“Weird or What?” explores strange and unusual phenomenon during its 10-eipsode run, including how a mother is able to lift a car to save her child, people who survive extreme falls, UFOs, and more. Every show will examine three out-of-the-ordinary and mysterious situations. In typical Shatner-form, the CoteSaint-Luc, Quebec native narrates and helps to try and find scientific reasoning behind the unique stories that unfold.
"It shows you how good publicity has been for me. Do you think I'm weird or what? It's great,” William Shatner said in an interview with QMI Agency. “I’m just quizzical about how things work and why things are. Here is a show that was a delight to be part of, trying to explain some of the things I would have Googled. Now you don't have to Google."
Shatner has had a busy career. After roles on the “Star Trek” series as well as seven of their movies, he has also appeared in “A Twist in the Tale,” “3rd Rock from the Sun,” “The Practice,” and an incredible 101 episodes of “Boston Legal.” However, Shatner isn’t ready to retire just yet – this year, in addition to “Weird or What?”, he is starring in the new sitcom “$#*! My Dad Says,” a behind-the-headlines series called "Aftermath with William Shatner," and continues to host his celebrity-interview series "Shatner's Raw Nerve."
“Weird or What?” premiers tonight on the History Channel at 9pm.
