Last month, "Lost" finished its sixth and last season with an emotional episode that bid farewell to the mysterious island and to our favorite group of castaway survivors.
Disney has previously revealed that "Lost: The Complete Sixth and Final Season" and "Lost: The Complete Collection" will both be released simultaneously on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 24. Additionally, the studio recently unveiled the much-anticipated bonus features, many of which have never been seen before.
"Lost: The Complete Sixth and Final Season" will feature bloopers, deleted scenes and audio commentary on four episodes: "LA X," "Dr. Linus," "Ab Aeterno" and "Across The Sea." The set will also include four short documentaries: "The End: Crafting A Final Season" — which chronicles the journey of the producers and the actors as they bring the series to a close, with some additional input from producers of other famous long-running TV series; "A Hero’s Journey" — which examines the survivors of Oceanic 815 to determine which of the castaways were true heroes; "See You In Another Life, Brotha" — an examination of the sideways reality glimpsed throughout season six; and "Lost on Location" — a behind-the-scenes featurette showcasing stories from the set, including all-new interviews with the actors and crew.
During a recent interview, Michael Emerson hinted that a longer epilogue featuring Hurley and Ben as the protectors of the island had been filmed and would be included on "Lost: The Complete Collection." However, the DVD description seems to suggest that the epilogue will also be included in the season six box set.
In addition to the extras listed above, "Lost: The Complete Collection" will include numerous featurettes that explore the worldwide impact of "Lost," with segments filmed everywhere from the San Diego Comic-Con to local fan events, as well as reflections from the cast and crew on the main characters, filming on the island of Oahu and a unique look at the characters who were killed during the series.
The set will also include a series of humorous "Slapdown" vignettes in which celebrity "Lost" fans confront Executive Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse with questions about the series.
"Lost: The Complete Collection" will also include a custom replica of the island, an exclusive episode guide, a collectible ‘Senet’ Game, a replica of Jacob's Ankh and a black light penlight.
"Lost: The Complete Sixth and Final Season" will be $59.99 on DVD and $79.99 on Blu-Ray. "Lost: The Complete Collection" will be $229.99 on DVD and $279.99 on Blu-ray.
