Hot off the heels of Conan O’Brien's hit "The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour," several of O’Brien’s writers are teaming up with Andy Richter for a new one-hour comedy special on TBS.
Tentatively titled "Team Coco Presents Conan’s Writers Live," the special will be taped during the second-annual "TBS Presents A 'Very Funny' Festival: Just For Laughs" in Chicago next month. The show has already been performed for sold-out crowds in Los Angeles and Chicago. Comedian Reggie Watts will also be featured on the special.
Richter has a long history with O’Brien, having served as his sidekick on "Late Night with Conan O’Brien" from 1993 to 2000. Richter went on to star in the critically acclaimed sitcom "Andy Richter Controls The Universe" as well as "Andy Barker, P.I." before he rejoined O’Brien as the announcer for "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien."
"Team Coco Presents Conan’s Writers Live" will be taped at the Bank of America Theater in Chicago on Thursday, June 17 at 7pm (CT) before premiering on Sunday, June 27 at 10pm (ET/PT) on TBS.
Tickets for the special will go on sale this Friday, May 28 at 10am (CT).
