The Emmy nominated Tomorrow Show with Tom Snyder ran from the late 1970’s to the early 1980’s during the height of the Punk Rock scene. The show showcased interviews with the artists of the day as well as interviews. Tom Snyder would later re-emerge in the mid 1990’s on the Worldwide Pants (David Letterman’s production company) produced program, The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder.
As far as the interviews go the interviews go they are generally good. The interview to look for is the roundtable with Joan Jett, Kim Fowley (Writer, producer and manager of The Runaways), Paul Weller, Robert Hilburn (Los Angeles Times pop music critic) and the late promoter Bill Graham. Snyder’s exchange with ex-Sex Pistols turned PIL front man John (Rotten) Lydon could hardly be called an interview. The Elvis Costello interview however goes well in comparison.
If you are a fan of Punk or New Wave then this should be of interest to you.
