After cancelling five series last week in a dramatic bloodletting, Fox is moving forward into the fall with only a single new drama: the much anticipated dinosaur time-travel epic, "Terra Nova."
Earlier today, Fox formally unveiled its new 2011-2012 schedule by adding five new shows to its lineup. The new series include the previously mentioned "Terra Nova," the Simon Cowell led reality/talent show, "The X-Factor" and three comedies: "I Hate My New Daughter," "New Girl" and the animated series, "Allen Gregory" starring Jonah Hill.
"Terra Nova" will settle into Monday nights at 8PM, before surrendering its time slot at mideseason to "House" in order to make room for J,J, Abrams' "Alcatraz." The "Bones" spinoff "Finder" will also share the Thursday 9PM time slot with its parent show in the spring, while the animated "Napoleon Dynamite" takes over for "Allen Gregory." Kiefer Sutherland's "Touch" is also in development for midseason despite the lack of a pilot episode.
The biggest surprise from this schedule is that "America's Most Wanted" has been removed from its traditional Saturday night weekly series in favor of quarterly specials. However, host John Walsh is reportedly trying to keep the "America's Most Wanted" weekly series alive at another outlet.
