This August, Section 20 will be back in action.
Cinemax has announced that "Strike Back" will kick off its new season on Friday, August 17 with two back-to-back episodes. This will be the second season of "Strike Back" on Cinemax and the third overall counting the season that aired exclusively in the United Kingdom during 2010.
Based upon novelist Chris Ryan's book with the same name, "Strike Back" follows Sullivan Stapleton's Damian Scott, an American soldier who was wrongly disgraced before he was given a second chance to prove himself at Section 20, a military unit of the British Secret Intelligence Service that hunts down and eliminates terrorist threats around the world. Scott's partner is Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester), a man who came to have a deep respect for Scott before his retirement at the end of last season.
Entertainment Weekly has debuted the first photo from the new season of "Strike Back" (pictured above) that not only shows Stonebridge and Scott back together but also provides a first glimpse of Section 20's new commanding officer, Captain Rachel Dalton; who is played by Rhona Mitra (Underworld: Rise of the Lycans).
In the meantime, repeats of the previous season of "Strike Back" begin tonight on Cinemax. And the first promo for the new season of "Strike Back" will air before this Sunday's season premiere of "True Blood."
