Back in August, Eddie Murphy's long stated desire to resurrect the Beverly Hills Cop series on television got a boost when “The Shield” creator, Shawn Ryan joined the project. After a quick pilot commitment from CBS, the new “Beverly Hills Cop” has been found.
Humor Mill is reporting that Brandon T. Jackson has landed the coveted role of Aaron Foley, the son of Murphy’s Axel Foley character that appeared in the three Beverly Hills Cop movies.
In the CBS incarnation of “Beverly Hills Cop,” Axel Foley is now the Chief of Police in Detroit, as his son relocates to Los Angeles to escape the shadow of his famous father. Murphy will reprise his role as the elder Foley in the pilot episode and he may potentially make recurring appearances if the project is ordered to series.
Jackson has previously appeared in several feature films including, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Tropic Thunder, Fast and Furious, Roll Bounce and Lottery Ticket. Jackson has guest starred on the Fox comedy series, “Raising Hope.”
