Lance Henriksen Takes On ‘Hannibal’

The genre veteran will guest star on an episode of NBC’s upcoming TV adaptation of Thomas Harris’ iconic serial killer.

Outside of Thomas Harris’ original novels, Frank Black — Lance Henriksen’s quasi-psychic criminal profiler from “Millennium” — would probably be one of the few characters to give Dr. Hannibal Lecter a run for his money. And while a crossover is probably out of the question, NBC is giving us the next best thing.

According to TVLine, Henriksen has been tapped to guest star in an episode of “Hannibal.” However, the details about Henriksen’s character were not revealed.

In addition to his starring turn on “Millennium,” Henriksen is well known for appearing in several feature films including the original Terminator, Aliens, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The RIght Stuff and Hard Target. Henriksen is also an accomplished voice actor with a performance in Disney’s Tarzan as well as roles in the video games Run Like Hell, Mass Effect and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 among others.

Developed by “Pushing Daisies” creator, Bryan Fuller, “Hannibal” has assembled a strong supporting cast that includes Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas, Leslie Bibb, Gillian Anderson and Gina Torres. Hugh Dancy leads the cast as Special Agent Will Graham, while Mads Mikkelsen will play Hannibal Lecter himself.

NBC has yet to set a debut date for “Hannibal,” and there are rumors that the series may even be held back for a summer run as CBS pursues a similar strategy with Stephen King’s “Under The Dome.”
