Skyler Samuels Leads NBC’s ‘Bloodline’

The former “Nine Lives Of Chloe King” star finds another life opposite “Breaking Bad’s” Jonathan Banks.

Last week, “Breaking Bad” veteran, Jonathan Banks joined the NBC pilot, “Bloodline” as one of the main antagonists. But now the series’ heroine has been found.

Deadline is reporting that Skyler Samuels has been cast in the lead of “Bloodline” as Bird Benson, a young girl who is described as “smart, irreverent and strong.” Bird soon finds herself in the middle of two warrior families as their long conflict stretches into the present, which forces Bird to become a warrior herself.

Banks will play Leo Killpriest, Bird’s maternal grandfather and the head of one of the warring factions who abandoned Bird when she was a child.

Samuels is best known for starring in ABC Family’s “The Nine Lives Of Chloe King” in which she played another young heroine/warrior, so “Bloodline” is well within her wheelhouse. Samuels has also appeared in “The Gates,” “Wizards of Waverly Place” and the feature films, Furry Vengeance and The Stepfather.

The “Bloodline” pilot episode is expected to begin production soon.
