Earlier today, the CW unveiled its Fall 2013 lineup that bet heavily on genre programming.
“The Vampire Diaries” spinoff, “The Originals” will now lead off on Tuesdays at 8pm, followed by “Supernatural” at 9pm as the veteran series enters its ninth season.
The CW’s biggest hit, “Arrow” will remain on Wednesdays at 8pm, where it will be joined by “The Tomorrow People” at 9pm, an updated version of the British superhero/sci-fi series from the ‘70s.
In theory, it would have been a good idea for the CW to pair “Arrow” with its Wonder Woman prequel series, “Amazon.” However, “Amazon” ran into some problems during the development season and the CW shelved it. But the CW has made it clear that Wonder Woman may still get a shot at the network. After the upfront presentation, the CW revealed that former “Heroes” scribe Aron Eli Coleite has been hired to write a new version of the “Amazon” pilot.
If “Amazon” manages to get a pilot order, it would likely be in contention to make the Fall 2014 schedule on the CW.
