When Annie Wersching joined the cast of 24, everyone was sure she was going to have a fling with Jack Bauer. I was just mesmerized by her brilliant red freckles on my HDTV. In person it was all I could do to contain myself as Wersching rocked the red carpet at Fox’s annual Fall Eco-Casino Party.
Crave Online: I don't know if you watch the show in HD but you look so pretty.
Annie Wersching: Awww.
Crave Online: We can see all your freckles come through. It’s gorgeous.
Annie Wersching: Oh, thank you.
Crave Online: What is in store for this day?
Annie Wersching: This day, it’s another crazy day. It takes place in New York this year. CTU is back and the new CTU set is amazing. It’s actually very similar to this dress. It’s very orange and shiny and metallic and flat. It’s a really cool set. I think fans are going to really like the set. Rene is off her ass. Seriously, I’m so excited for people to see. We’re in episodes 9 and 10 right now and I’ve already done the craziest stuff.
Crave Online: After one day with Jack Bauer, does she know how to handle him?
Annie Wersching: Please, one day? I had him in like two hours. No, I’m kidding. Yeah, I think so. They’ve somehow formed such an interesting relationship after only knowing each other for one day but I think there’s people like that in life that you connect with instantly. They saw each other in each other.
Crave Online: There are people who sensed sparks flying. I was not one of them, I said it’s all professional.
Annie Wersching: Yeah, it’s all professional.
Crave Online: Just intense.
Annie Wersching: Yeah.
Crave Online: But now there have been several months since. Has anything happened between them?
Annie Wersching: Well, it’s interesting because I think that was the draw between the two of them. They knew the other one could handle themselves like they would, professionally and in the field and all of that. So I think there was some mutual respect that was born out of that and then they helped each other through crises, so I think that brought them closer. So we’re definitely close this season.
Crave Online: But they haven’t been dating?
Annie Wersching: We’re close.
Crave Online: Have you gotten to shoot anything in New York?
Annie Wersching: No, we haven’t unfortunately. I heard we were going to go but then we’re faking it.
Crave Online: What in L.A. looks like New York?
Annie Wersching: Any shot where you can’t see a palm tree. Seriously. That’s what they scout out for. A lot of downtown. We’re always in a dirty nasty ally somewhere. We’re in San Pedro a lot.
