Former big league pitcher Kenny Powers is getting ready to make his comeback.
Danny McBride returns as Kenny Powers in the new season of "Eastbound & Down," starting later this month on HBO. At the end of the first season, Powers left his hometown to face an unknown future after an offer to return to the Major Leagues was retracted.
But nothing can keep Kenny Powers down!
In the new season, Powers has relocated to Mexico and joined a Mexican baseball team in the latest stop on his return to greatness. Michael Peña ('Crash,' 'The Shield') and Ana de la Reguera ('Nacho Libre') have joined the cast as the owner of Powers' new baseball team and his new love interest, respectively. Stevie Janowski and Ben Best are also returning to the series.
HBO has released the new trailer for the second season of "Eastbound and Down," which debuts on Sunday September 26.
Additionally, HBO has created an incredible video mashup app on the "Eastbound & Down" Facebook page that lets users select video clips, music and graphics to create their own tribute to the greatest pitcher who ever lived... Kenny Powers! Janowski is also hosting a "Kenny Powers video tribute challenge” for HBO in which the ten highest rated videos created by the app will get prizes, including a Toshiba camcorder and even a 55” Vizio flat screen TV for the grand prize winner!
