Last season, HBO introduced viewers to "Boardwalk Empire," an engrossing Prohibition era drama that focuses on Enoch "Nucky" Thompson (Steve Buscemi), the county treasurer of Atlantic City who also controls the flow of illegal alcohol and an assortment of other underworld activities. Nucky had his trials during the first season of the series, but he ultimately came out on top and won back his estranged lover, Margaret Schroeder (Kelly Macdonald).
However, Nucky also made a habit of alienating those closest to him. And in this preview scene from tonight's second season premiere, the Commodore (Dabney Coleman) lays out his plans to destroy Nucky along with his two collaborators: Nucky's brother Eli (Shea Whigham) and Nucky's former protégé, Jimmy Darmody (Michael Pitt).

Last weekend at the Emmys, Martin Scorsese won the award for Outstanding Direction in Drama for the pilot episode of "Boardwalk Empire;" which also took home an additional seven Emmys in the Creative Arts categories.
