Fairy tales are all the rage this fall on network TV.
Over the weekend, ABC unveiled "Once Upon A Time," a new fairy tale inspired series that places classic storybook characters in modern times. And this Friday, NBC will introduce viewers to "Grimm," its own series with modern day fairy tale characters.
However, "Grimm" is decidedly more action based than "Once Upon A Time." The series stars David Giuntoli as Nick Burkhardt, a homicide detective who discovers that he is descended from a long line of monster hunters known as Grimms. They protect the world from all of the dark fairy tale creatures. Silas Weir Mitchell co-stars as Eddie Monroe, an ex "big bad wolf" who assists Nick, with Bitsie Tulloch, Sasha Roiz, Reggie Lee and Russell Hornsby rounding out the cast.
Ahead of Friday's debut episode, NBC has released the first 20 minutes of the series online. And as fearsome as the monsters can be, "Grimm" will face off directly against two popular genre shows: "Fringe" and "Supernatural."
