"Anachronistic electricity, keep out signs, aggressive stares… Has someone been peaking at my Christmas list?" – The Doctor
Over the weekend at the Official Doctor Who Convention in Cardiff, the BBC debuted a brand new teaser trailer for the upcoming seventh season of "Doctor Who." Although only three or four episodes have been confirmed to been filmed, the trailer has now been released online in full HD quality.
Most of the footage appears to have been taken from an episode that will take the Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy (Karen Gillan) and Rory (Arthur Darvill) to the Old West… or at least a planet that greatly resembles it. From there, we see cyborgs, an unintentionally trigger-happy Amy and a familiar looking eyestalk poking out from under the snow.
And in case you missed it, the Sheriff in that clip was none other than sci-fi icon Ben Browder making his "Doctor Who" debut, presumably as an ally of the Doctor and his friends.
Production on "Doctor Who" season seven is still in progress, and Doctor Who TV is reporting that the fifth episode will be filmed in New York as the Weeping Angels make a devastating return to the series.
Following the pending departure of Amy and Rory, Jenna-Louise Coleman has been confirmed as The Doctor's next companion, but the name of her character has not yet been revealed. However, a teaser image of Coleman in character in front of the TARDIS went out last Friday.
"Doctor Who" season seven will premiere later this year on BBC America and BBC One.
